# I webhook

I webhook sono chiamate che la piattaforma invia automaticamente a sistemi esterni, nel cloud o in un datacenter tradizionale. Comunicano subito i dati del sito a un altro sistema e sostituiscono gli allineamenti batch, spesso eseguiti di notte. L’invio immediato riduce le latenze nell’erogazione dei servizi e consente di rilevare prima gli errori.

## Cosa fanno i webhook

Quando si verifica un evento configurato, come la pubblicazione o l’aggiornamento di un contenuto, la piattaforma invia una richiesta HTTP all’endpoint del sistema esterno. La richiesta contiene i dati necessari per aggiornare il sistema destinatario.

Il sistema esterno riceve i dati e può elaborarli subito. Ad esempio, può aggiornare i propri contenuti, avviare un processo o inviare una notifica.

## Come utilizzarli

Per utilizzare un webhook, l’Ente indica a OpenCity Italia il sistema destinatario, l’URL dell’endpoint e l’evento che deve attivare l’invio dei dati. OpenCity Italia configura il webhook su richiesta dell’Ente. Quando si verifica l’evento configurato, la piattaforma invia automaticamente i dati all’endpoint indicato.
